NSCG
Welcome!
NSCG ("Nameless Solo Card Game") is a card-based puzzle combat game. You'll play cards into a timeline that forecasts each upcoming turn; you'll need to juggle timings, party positioning, and damage values to overcome the opposition!
This game is still a work in progress; feedback is massively appreciated! I'm particularly interested in refining the tutorial and Training Grounds level, since those are what teach new players the game.
Though there's no save functionality yet, testers can use the "CHEAT" button to skip around on the maps and/or to pick up where they left off.
Leave your feedback below!
- Was the tutorial clear enough? Did anything stick out as confusing?
- What's your opinion on the core gameplay (hitting precise damage values, arranging your cards on the turn bar, managing party positions, etc.)?
- How did you feel about the overall difficulty? Did any fights stick out as too hard or too easy?
- What do you think of the game's aesthetic (art, animations, music, etc) in their current form?
- Any ideas for a title? (Please help, this is the hardest part.)

The mechanics are very cool! I'm still in the tutorial, with green and red.
What I don't like so far: there's always only one solution, so it doesn't feel like I'm playing. I want to learn it the hard way and die from my stupidity!
I'm at a point where the tutorial seems broken: the game asks me to do a perfect break, but accepted a solution where I was taking damages, because I used the unique red attack bonus on the previous turn (without the game prompting me to do so, just me clicking stuff), and thus the enemy has 2HP less than it's supposed to have... I don't want to use that +2ATK but I'm forced to!
Thanks for the comment! The tutorial is "on rails" because I've previously had complaints about the mechanics being unclear or confusing (both online and irl); I'll wait for more feedback before I make more changes.
I'll also look into the bug while I'm at it. In the meantime you should be able to refresh the page and use the CHEAT button to skip to tutorial 2 and retry it.
Either I don't understand how the game works (causing massive frustration) or it's broken. I try to follow the prompts and sometimes the combat indicator at the top shows, but most of the time it's just a solid colored box. Then if the combat indicator does show, I can't select the enemy and hitting ready just tells me to try again.
I could kind of click through on Tutorial 1, but Tutorial 2 is just not happy with whatever I try.
Sorry I can't give more input.
You're fine, that's good info.
What's actually happening is that you're accidentally targeting yourself; the icon is invisible because it matches the target's color. So clearly I need to adjust the input system and/or make the instructions clearer.
I’d be interested in checking out a new build. It seems like an interesting concept.
New build's up if you're still interested.
(I'll delete this comment after a while... this is the kind of thing I'd rather DM about if we had that here. )
